- What is a Thorcat escape system? Thorcat are original exhaust systems of Vance & Hines that have been modified by replacing the original deflector with a cartridge deflector approved by Thorcat EC/Abe and a catalytic converter is also added.
These changes result in an escape system that is 100% legal to the street and is approved by CE and Abe (Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis).
With a Thorcat you get the excellent manufacturing quality of Vance & Hines and a smile on your face when they stop, surely knowing that their escape gases are legal throughout the European Union.
What is exactly changed? For Euro 4 systems, the deflector is replaced and a catalytic converter is also added.
Cartridge deflectors and catalytic converters are welded and are not removable.
What motorcycles is homologation valid? EC/Abe certification is valid for un modified original motorcycles, for specific model models and years mentioned in product descriptions.
Record your Thorcat? Each Thorcat escape and the individual components used for approval come with a unique serial number.
You must provide the VIN number (box number) of the motorcycle to record your escape system in the Thorcat register;
A document on how to do this is included.
Once registered, you will receive a Thorcat identification card that you can use to demonstrate the legality of your escape system.
