The Offset Sprocket Lock Kit is now available for select Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
This system positively secures the compensation pinion so that it cannot come loose.
Rubber-mounted motors can isolate seat- and frame-mounted components from vibration, but the entire drivetrain, including the balance sprocket, is still at risk of fasteners loosening due to shock.
Additionally, today's larger, more powerful engines can cause a smaller restraint system to become loose due to the large bursts of power combined with the back-and-forth motion of throttle pedal inputs.
In addition to driveline security, the JIMS balance sprocket locking kit holds the alternator rotor in place to prevent damage to the charging system. This isn't just a race engine component; stock bikes will also benefit from this upgrade for increased reliability and safety. Not for older-style balancers with a spring cup attached to the rotor or stock balancers from 2014.
