Black anodized aluminum, 04-17 style. 
It is used to mount the escape in the butt. 
Note: Exhaust retention rings for installation are required. 
These must be requested separately. 
Note: The steel flanges 84-03/17-22 'Early style' thinner and aluminum exhaust flanges 04-17 'late style' thick 'are interchangeable. 
Late Style's flanges are thicker and designed to help prevent the escape flange from double. 
Everyone will adapt to Big Twin 84-UP and Sportster XL 86-UP models.
