Note: When installing shocks on 86-20 XL Models, it may be necessary to modify or Space the Chain/Belt Guard to Allow Proper Clearance.

Note: A shock which is slightly Longer Than Stock May Altern The Head Angle Slightly and provides Somowhat Quicker Steering.

To use the 11 "or 11.5" Shocks on Fxdwg Models, The Fender Must Be modified as follows: When the shock is compressed, The Belt Guard Will Hit the Fender Edge (See Figure 1). Trim the Fender As Shown in Figure 1 Inset. After the fender is trimmed, install one shock with springs stirred and compress shock to verify that Belt Guard Clearance is Suficient.
