It will allow you to convert the original 45" 3-speed transmission to a 4-speed.
1, 2, 3 are smaller and 4th gear is identical to the OEM ratio to get closer to optimal RPM (torque) at different speeds.
Fits 3 Speed 45" (750cc) Side Valve Models.
Shift pattern 41-46.
Can be used with later models when converted to foot shift or tank shift pattern is converted to 41-46 style.
Note: The original transmission side cover (kick-start cover) must be machined to accept the larger first (low) gear. A special side cover for the 4-speed transmission is available separately as an option, 971591.
