What is the best switchboard to paddle with Harley-Davidson's injection

In a Previous article We explained the need to row or emphasize the injection if the escapes, the filter or some other component that modified the amount of air that enters or leaves the engine were changed.

When “paddling” our switchboard we have to choose the appropriate device based on our needs, the modifications made in the engine and its components and also depending on our budget. We could currently divide the different technologies into 3 differentiated groups:
  • Basic enriching

In this section we do not find devices that are interspersed between the switchboard and the injectors. These devices intercept the signal from the ECM and increase it or decrease, managing to vary the opening time of the injectors and therefore the amount of gasoline delivered.
Its adjustment is quite rough and is usually done by means of manual or buttons potentiometers. 3 RPM ranges are usually adjusted: low, medium and high.

In the last group of the “centralitas” of injection are those devices that do not intercept or modify the signals, but are able to rewrite the original ECM code, reprogramming natively.
They are basically interfaces that allow communicating a personal computer directly with the motorcycle and varying their parameters and tables (RPM at the idle, gasoline, ignition, constants, temperature management ...). Its price is the highest and the software that accompanies these products is very advanced, so they require good knowledge about EFI systems in order to make the most of them.
It is also true that in recent years manufacturers are striving to facilitate their use and almost all have the possibility of performing active (autotune) learning without the need for auxiliary devices (they take advantage of original Lambda probes) and with an amazing resolution. Even some of them have touch screens or direct connection with the mobile phone, to be able to see through the screen the engine constants and values ​​(speed, RMP, temperature, failure codes, map change ...).
Another of the strengths of the software is that it has a diagnostic capacity, so they become a useful tool.

Gracias por atenderme. Dyna FXDB 2007. Llevo los escapes originales. Llevo un filtro de aire lavable K&N. A veces pongo los escapes Screamin Eagle que compré hace mucho, no llevan “nada” dentro, por lo que la moto hace más ruido y va “diferente”, a veces petardea, claro, pero lo mejor es que a mi esposa no se le calienta tanto el pie en la estribera. Con los escapes originales es un suplicio para ella.
El rollo es que para la ITV tengo que andar cambiando los escapes y es un coñazo, pero se soporta.
¿Qué debería hacer en mi moto para que la Inyección fuera mejor? ¿Una centralita de esas programables? No quiero una pantalla en el manillar que me informe de montones de cosas que, realmente, no “necesito” saber. Algo que pueda yo manejar programando con un portátil y sea sencillo.
