In motorcycles older than 10 years, with metal fuel tanks, internal corrosion is common. This is caused by the chemical components of the fuel (especially if it contains large amounts of ethanol) and, above all, by the humidity that comes from the outside air and condenses in the tank.
This corrosion forms rust deposits on the walls and bottom of the fuel tank, which, when loosened by the vibrations and movements of the motorcycle, end up clogging the fuel filter, fuel tap, carburetor, and injectors.
The best way to prevent and combat this oxidation is by using a Cleaning and Sealing Kit , which in a first stage cleans and removes dirt and then creates a protective internal layer that protects the tank walls.
