- The new S&S 31-2100 breather valve does not rely on crankshaft rotation for opening and closing
- Instead, the reeds open when crankcase pressure is greater than cam chest pressure, and close when cam chest pressure is equal to or greater than crankcase pressure
- By opening and closing "on demand", the reed valves automatically compensate for the time lag associated with accelerating the air mass as it is expelled from the crankcase, improving performance and preventing oil carry-over at high RPM in engines with poor ring sealing
- Installation is quick and easy - no timing marks to align, and no rotating parts
- For 1993-1999 Evolution Big Twin models
