- The starter system on 4-speed models from 1965 to 1988, with a separate starter solenoid, isn't known for its reliability—quite the opposite. But that's not the case, with this manual system that will always work. It mounts in place of the original solenoid. From now on, just mount your bike, pull the lever, and that's it.
