S&S Hydraulic Unit, 53-84 For Harley Davidson

OEM reproduction hydraulic unit.
Can be used as an original replacement for S&S tappet sets 512881/512882.
Also fits as a direct OEM replacement for hydraulic unit 17920-53A.
Note: Not compatible with S&S SH series (blade style) engines.
Note: Older style hydraulic tappet assemblies can be purchased as a set (hydraulic unit + roller tappet body) or as individual pieces.
When purchasing individual parts, the correct tolerance cannot be guaranteed, which can influence hydraulic function.
Distributors with larger inventory can mix and match hydraulic units and tappet bodies to create a package that offers excellent purge times.
For all others, it is recommended to opt for a complete hydraulic unit and tappet body assembly from the same manufacturer, such as those offered by S&S or JIMS.
These are machined to the correct tolerances to each other so they work correctly right out of the box.
