Ger Dijkshoorn (born in 1947 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands) has owned one of the most established Harley-Davidson workshops in Utrecht, the Netherlands, since 1978.

Peter van den Barselaar, founder of the Dutch Motorcycle Academy, once complained that a lot of knowledge about classic and vintage Harleys was being lost as many of the veteran mechanics retired.

He asked Ger to write down some details about Linkert carburetors so he could provide training on them.

What began as a few notes ended up as a pamphlet, and Linkert's manual was just a starting point.

The second in the series is this manual on the DC generators used until 1969 in most Harley-Davidson models.
