Tech Tip: Piston Grooves vs. Piston Rings
It is not difficult to determine if a Hastings piston ring set will fit a certain piston.
You need to measure the height of the piston groove on the piston itself.
The top 2 grooves will be for the compression rings, the bottom groove will be for the oil ring.
In most cases, Hastings oil rings are low tension 3-way flexible vent type.
Ring heights are listed for reference.
Tech Tip: Oversized piston.
For each oversized cylinder, the diameter will increase by 0.010" (0.254 mm).
The standard cylinder bore is included for reference.
