Developed to handle the power and torque of today's large-inch/high-performance engines on the road.
This Carbonite clutch kit features an additional friction plate and steel drive plate, increasing the clutch surface area for increased engagement.
The friction plates are lined with 3M carbon-based material, which is able to withstand higher temperatures and offers a higher coefficient of friction than any other material currently available.
The steel drive plates are 'Performance Steel™' and have a surface Ra value (average roughness) of only 2 to 10 microinches.
Normal steels have a Ra value of between 15 and 25 microinches.
A microscope will show you fewer peaks and valleys in Alto's 'Performance Steel™'.
This will improve performance, durability, engagement, and offer longer life and cooler running.
