The president of the Motor Company has stated that the first electric bike of the legendary American manufacturer will come to light in 18 months.
For high displacement motorcycle manufacturers the challenge is to offer a product adapted to the new times and supported by new technologies, as demanded by new generations of "millennial" consumers. Harley Davidson has seen its sales decline globally over the past year (in fact it has had to close the Kansas factory) and hopes to revive its turnover and attract new generations of bikers.
The HD electric bike will be inspired by the Prototype of the Liwevire project, although it is not clear for now whether Harley will choose a technology partner to help him develop the final project (the company that collaborated with the Livewire motorcycle, Mission Motors, closed a while ago).
In this way the Milwaukee brand sets foot in the future and advances many of its competitors, with the aim of continuing to offer a premium, mythical brand with a high differentiation in the sector.
So far the lucky ones who have been able to test the Livewire prototype have been shocked by the sensations that this bike transmits. The future is here.
