Harley-Davidson launches its new electric bicycle brand: serial 1 ebicycles

It has been almost a year since the last time there was talk of the Harley-Davidson electric bicycle project and today it is confirmed that The Company engine has created a separate division called Serial 1 Cycle Company, the nickname of the oldest known motorcycle of Harley-Davidson, built in 1903.
This announcement is accompanied by a new prototype, for now Harley-Davidson offers no specification, so we can only speculate on power levels, battery size, scope and price.
Serial 1 has an average transmission engine, a belt transmission system, a battery integrated in the box, headlights and rear lights integrated into the painting and leather details, different from the most modern prototypes they had presented so far.
Harley is about to enter a busy market where even the large bicycle manufacturers such as Specialized, Trek and Giant are competing with fast-growing electric bicycle companies such as Rad Power Bikes, Pedego and X-Treme Electric Bikes. Nor will it be the first motorcycle brand to make this change: Triumph, based in the United Kingdom, presented its own prototype, the Trekker GT, earlier this year. And Ducati launched his first electric bicycle last year. Automotive brands are also joining the action: BMW is making bicycles and electric motorcycles, Audi is making mountain electric bicycles, Mercedes-Benz presented an electric scooter, Ford acquired the Spin Electric Scooters Startup and Jeep recently presented an electric motor High power for your mountain bike. On the other hand, ARIV, the brand of electric bicycles launched by General Motors, closed silently in May, in the middle of the first days of the Covid-19 Pandemia.
In any case, a door opens so that the new generations of future motorcyclists access the world of two wheels. If brands are able to retain them and convey the feeling of freedom and fun that this represents, we may be facing the rebirth of the motorcycle world.
