When it comes to tires for custom models, new developments usually come from technological innovation. In this case, Metzeler has used the latest technology in chemical coloring processes to offer us the legendary Marathon Ultra 888 with orange sidewalls, the Motor Company's official racing color.
Designed for Harley-Davidson, these tires offer all the features of the ME 888 range with the aesthetic advantage of their striking color, creating custom models that stand out.
They feature an innovative belt structure with a single layer of steel cords wrapped around a 0° radial casing, a high-performance technology patented by Metzeler for the front and rear wheels.
Steel has greater rigidity and this allows for a reduction in tire weight.
The radial steel belt reduces dynamic tire deformation under centrifugal forces and gives the tire excellent stability at high speeds. Thanks to more even heat distribution, mileage is increased and wear characteristics are more consistent.
On both the front and rear tires, the space is wider in the crown area for greater elasticity and cushioning. The sidewall sections have increased stiffness to handle fast cornering. In the shoulder area of the rear wheel, the space is again wider for increased feedback and safe handling.
