These state-of-the-art carburetors are available for custom application on most models. The HS40 SmoothBore carburetor is easy to tune, and will greatly improve starting, rideability, power and torque for any riding situation from street and touring, to custom and performance. Features include a compact, lightweight design with a high flowing 40mm SmoothBore venturi and an adjustable accelerator pump for excellent throttle response. This provides improved fuel economy and a major increase in both power and torque from idle to full throttle on both stock and modified engines. The SmoothBore carburetor comes complete with choke cable. Throttle cables, manifold, manifold adapter, clamps and air cleaner must be ordered separately. On models with "Through-The-Head Breathing" system, breather kit ZPN232224 must be used. Note: On late models with CV-type carburetor (Sportster 1988-up & Big Twin 1990-up) carburetor adapter (ZPN232196) must be used! On 1996 to present models late style cables must be used, or the handlebar throttle assembly must be changed to the pre-1995 model.
