Will Harley-Davidson manufacture in Thailand?

Harley-Davidson Inc. is building a new plant in Thailand, as they have confirmed to the company executives.
The new plant will be located in the province of Rayong in Thailand, southeast of Bangkok, to serve the Southeast Asian market.
"This has nothing to do with taking out the United States jobs," said Marc Mcallister, Harley-Davidson International Sales Managing Director, based in Singapore, to New York Times. "It's about growing our business in Asia."
In the United Steelworkers (USW) union, which represents members of Harley's plants in Wisconsin and Missouri, they are not happy and criticize the decision, saying that "it endangers one of the few authentic brands of the United States."
Although in the plants of the United States they are reducing jobs, the Company engine, however, has been growing in the international market by 2.3%. (Source: Milwaukee Business Journal)
Currently the brand already has assembly plants in Brazil and India. Here is another of the challenges of internationalization, a necessary condition to survive in this globalized world. The key is to grow without losing the brand essence and being able to continue offering a real premium product, not simply commercial marketing. It is therefore to maintain a high standard in the manufacturing and assembly processes, at the same time combining an exhaustive quality control. Will Harley overcome the challenge?
